Supporting you in achieving your Goals.

Starting a university degree is not easy. The time commitment and skills required for success may only hit home once you have started. If your first trimester at UNE was more challenging than you anticipated, this doesn’t mean you should give up on your goals!

At UNE we are here to help you achieve your goals, even when setbacks happen.

We are making UNE’s fee-free online foundation program available to all students who found their first trimester of study challenging, while maintaining your enrolment in your current degree. This means you are able to further develop important skills you need to complete your course, without any cost or impact on your current degree.

Why you should consider this offer.

If your first trimester was challenging at university, developing your skills may be necessary to ensure you achieve your goals. The UNE foundation program offers you the opportunity to develop important skills to succeed in your course. Taking up this offer will mean that the enrollment in your current course will be paused (put on intermission), which allows you to undertake the foundation program without giving up your place in your course. In fact, you can return to your course at any time. While you are not required to undertake the foundation program even if your first trimester at UNE has been challenging, there are clear benefits for you to take this step, including:

  1. Develop your foundational university level skill set in a free online program before you attempt further units in your chosen course,
  2. Keep the place in your course, without incurring further costs, while you get ready for future trimesters,
  3. Maintain enrolment as a UNE student, including access to all benefits and support systems available at UNE,
  4. Continue to work towards your degree goals in a highly supportive environment

This depends on the study load you have completed during your first trimester of study, as well as the units you are planning to undertake in the foundation program. The foundation program is specifically designed around a study load of two units per trimester. Please check UNE’s Full-time or part-time study page for details.
